It’s great to be back. These images of our art camp from 2 years ago popped up on my phone today. I am excited for our art camps in August. See you then, Sheila
BIG NEWS: We’re back. Reopening in August with an exciting program of Summer camps in the Harold’s Cross Community Centre (behind Kenilworth Motors). To protect my wonderful artists, you and your family, we will have social distancing safety protocol in place in compliance with the HSE and the HPSC
The 4 day Classical Art Summer Camps on offer this August are as follows:
Week 1: Tuesday- Friday 4th -7th August 2020 | 10am – 2pm | 6 – 8 yrs
Week 2: Tuesday – Friday 11th – 14th August 2020 | 10am – 2pm | 9-14 yrs
I have a screen grab, pdf and word document of the application form at the end of the blog post for you. All art materials are supplied but each artist will use individual art packs as opposed to sharing art materials. I’ll take a small number of artists per camp, which is normal for Art Academy anyways but also for social distancing compliance this year. Each artist will have an art station 2 meters apart in the large hall.
I look forward to see you in August,
Small group for more individual attention Social distancing safety protocol in place
All very welcome regardless of previous artistic experience

Before teaching at Art Academy this morning, I had a lovely morning of yoga with Sarah Shannon Yoga . You’ll see if you scroll down to the end of the post, that now Sarah Shannon Yoga seems to have some competitors who have copied her business model. 😄
They are planning a website for this venture at #Coderdojo

Art Academy is located in Harold’s Cross Community Centre, located behind the building that was used for Kenilworth Motors. Looking forward to art camp already. I’ve posted the Draw Your Own Masterpiece page (published in the recent Harold’s Xpress magazine) at the end of the post if you fancy challenging yourself to Botticelli’s Venus in the meantime.
Congratulations to Laoise, Ryan, Gwen, Evan, James, Zoë, Rose, Emma, and Heidi on completion of their Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer by Gustav Klimt master copy. The results of their hard work speak for themselves, in the pictures below. Scroll down to the end and check out their process. There is a really cool story behind this painting illustrated well in the film Woman in Gold starring Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds. Watch the trailer here. You can check it the full length feature on iTunes here.
