ANTONIO CASTELLÓ AVILLEIRA Hyperrealism Oil Painting Workshop | 6th, 7th, 8th Sept 2024 | DEPOSIT

I am honoured to announce Hyperrealism Master Artist and IBEX Master ANTONIO CASTELLÓ AVILLEIRA is set to return to Dublin in 2024 for two amazing workshops. He will share the unique processes he has developed to create his hyperrealism art.
You will learn to create a hyperrealism oil painting from the printed reference. The reference is provided. Each workshop will have a new original image designed by Antonio for you to work from. Next years image is yet to be decided. I’ll post it here when Antonio has chosen it. DATES: 3 day oil painting workshop: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6th, 7th and 8th September 2024 - full day 10am - 6pm with an hour for a lunch break COST: total €350: €140 deposit to hold your place with the balance of €210 due before August 1st 2023 Materials are not included in the price. For the oil painting masterclass I will email you the list of brushes, oil paints and supplies. It’s the same materials list as the 2022 and 2023 class for those of you who have attended then. The course is given in Spanish with an interpreter translating Antonio’s teaching to English. If you need another language get in touch. Side note: I personally travelled to Rome in March 2022 especially to take this course and it was amazing. So I can happily recommend it. Since then I have taken a further 2 masterclasses with Antonio and I credit him and his mentoring with the greatest improvement in my art practice. Monday Mornings | Introduction to Oil Painting (suitable for beginners) – Painting the Figure | Adults | 10am – 12.30 | 7 Weeks | Starting October 2nd 2023 | LCC Rathmines

Get ready to unlock your inner artist with a 7 week morning atelier for those wishing to learn or improve their figurative oil painting. Beginners to oil painting are very much encouraged. Taught by artist Sheila Flaherty. 10am - 12.30, Monday mornings starting October 2nd 2023

On the first morning you will need to bring an A3 canvas/wooden panel. I will explain the art materials used for oil painting. Then from the second morning on bring your paints, brushes etc (materials list at the bottom of the page)

On the first morning we will prepare the canvas/panel for painting and begin the transfer process. A full demonstration is given. No prior experience is necessary.

During this course we will cover preparing your canvas for painting, transfer of the design to the canvas, setting up your palette, materials to use for best practice, colour mixing with extra care toward skin tone colour mixing, application of paint, edges, value, chroma, light and shade, layering, glazing, brush care and finishing.

Material are not provided. You will paint from the printed reference. A printed reference photo will be provided. Get in touch if you have any questions. Sheila Flaherty is a figurative, contemporary, hyperrealist artist. She paints primarily in the medium of oils. She holds a Post Graduation Higher Diploma from NCAD. Her work is exhibited in Dublin, LA and Barcelona at the RHA, Dessel, CIACLA and MEAM.

Unlock your inner artist at Art Academy Ireland. Over the 5 day hyperrealism oil painting workshop you will learn a layered process oil painting technique that makes your art work look realistic. This workshop is taught by practicing contemporary, superrealist, figurative artist Sheila Flaherty Sheila also holds a PG HDip in Art and Education from the National Collge of Art and Design. Small group, once full waiting list applies. The Workshop runs from Monday - Friday 3pm - 6pm for ALL LEVELS. There are 3 projects this week, something for each level: LEVEL 1 If you are new to hyperrealism oil painting, you are very welcome and you will paint the hyperrealistic monochrome eye painting LEVEL 2 Those of you who have completed the introduction to hyperrealism oil painting with me this Summer will now complete an hyperrealistic coloured eye painting with an emphasis on colour mixing ( we have an extra day at midterm to go over this) LEVEL 3 My elite artists, who have completed level 1 and 2 will paint the lips painting with a focus on replicating skin and teeth texture in your hyperrealism artworks. ( I may change this reference ) All materials supplied Clear a space on the wall to hang the creation. This is suitable for artist aged 12-18. All materials supplied.
