Happy new year from Art Academy. It’s a fresh new year and time to start making exciting plans. The nicest gift I received this Christmas was this diary from The National Gallery of Ireland. It is a weekly diary and has a different pieces of art from the collection to inspire on each page.
I had wrote a post on my top fav gift idea’s from the gallery shop. I had planned to pick one up in January and Breda Flaherty beat me to it. A beautiful gift to receive and it makes me feel excited for the year ahead. You can get yours at their store in the gallery on Merrion Square. May your 2018 be wonderful.
This is my 3rd NGI diary and I am set to continue.
Happy Monday. If you enjoy art and cocktails know that The Hennessy Lost Fridays return to The Royal Hibernian Academy on 03rd of March 2017.
“Experience an Unforgettable Night of Cocktails, Colour and Creativity” it promises. So there is live music, live interactive art, poetry, DJ’s, art exhibitions and even two Hennessy cocktails included with your ticket. The wonderful Coppa Cafe is serving food on the night.
Art Academy has a fantastic art themed bookclub we host once a month in Coppa Cafe at the RHA. A fun relaxed evening discussing a different art based novel in good company. We will be attending The Lost Friday event on the 03rd of March. If you fancy popping along with us you are welcome (Over 21’s). I have made an event on Meetup where you can RSVP once you buy a ticket.
Tickets are available on eventbright: https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/rha-hennessy-lost-friday-tickets-31642225749
We’ll meet at the cafe at 7pm. If you are coming later, no problem.
I’l look forward to seeing you there.
Art Academy run an art themed bookclub once a month on the second Wednesday of the month. We meet at 6pm – 9pm in the lovely Coppa Cafe at the front of the RHA located just off St. Stephen’s Green.
Each month we choose a different art themed book to read for the next month. It’s quite an informal get together, so don’t worry if you don’t finish (or even start) the book you are still welcome along.
Some of the books we have read so far are:
There is no charge of admission or subscription to the bookclub, it’s a fun, free, friendly art event. Each month the new book is posted on Meetup. I will link below. And (if I think of it) I will also post here on the website.
Also if you have read a great art themed novel, please let me know, always on the lookout for a new arty read.
