At Art Academy we are excited to announce our shiny, new home at the Education and Research Centre, Harold’s Cross. This is where we will host the Halloween / Midterm Art Camp 2019.
It’s a really nice building on the grounds of Our Lady’s Hospice. We’ll be in “classroom 3’ or as I prefer to call it Art Studio 3.
The entrance is across the road from the post office / St Clare’s School in Harold’s Cross. Enter through the main gates of Our Lady’s Hospice on the Harold’s Cross Road and proceed for 200 meters, the Research and Education Centre is on your right passed the carpark. Parking is free.
We are fully book this year but will announce a new schedule for 2020. www.artacademy.ie
The Halloween Art Academy Camp is now completely sold out. Waiting list only. Those who are booked, thank you. Excited to see you at the end of next month.
Last two spots left for the Art Academy at Mid-term / Halloween Art Camp. Please share. Someone you know may know a wonderful young artist who deserves a spot. #artcamp #ArtAcademy #Midterm #Halloween

Check out these incredible masterpieces. Christopher attended the Art Academy Summer camp 2019 and wowed everyone with his artistic talent. It soon became clear that there was more than one artist in the family. He and his mom Joanna created extra Rosa Bonheur mastercopies at home and kindly shared their beautiful work featured below. Well done to this awesome, creative mom and son art team.
Disney’s The Lion King remake is in cinemas at the moment. From monkeys to lions, the Art Academy artists have painted them all.
We are off to a very colourful start here at this week’s Art Academy Summer Camp as we welcome 12 promising artist’s to their week of Rosa Bonheur painting. Stay tuned to see their work progess. I am very excited to see what these guys can do as so far, I’m impressed with their work ethic and colour mixing skill.
Phew, it’s just a bunch of 7 and 8 year olds making their block-ins, ahead of creating their Mastercopies of 19th Century realism art. The painting’s are starting to look so real you would be forgiven for thinking these were real lions.
The artists are studying the work of world famous artist Rosa Bonheur. Rosa Bonheur
was a french artist and her largest and most famous work can be seen in New York’s wonderful Met Museum
. We do however have one of her paintings here in Ireland, a beautiful painting of a stag (the animal not the pre-wedding weekend away): https://www.theartstory.org/artist-bonheur-rosa-life-and-legacy.htm
