Art Academy is Excited to Announce a New Home

At Art Academy we are excited to announce our shiny, new home at the Education and Research Centre, Harold’s Cross. This is where we will host the Halloween / Midterm Art Camp 2019.

It’s a really nice building on the grounds of Our Lady’s Hospice. We’ll be in “classroom 3’ or as I prefer to call it Art Studio 3.
The entrance is across the road from the post office / St Clare’s School in Harold’s Cross. Enter through the main gates of Our Lady’s Hospice on the Harold’s Cross Road and proceed for 200 meters, the Research and Education Centre is on your right passed the carpark. Parking is free.

Featured Artists: Mom and Son Artistic Duo Wow Everyone At Art Academy

Check out these incredible masterpieces. Christopher attended the Art Academy Summer camp 2019 and wowed everyone with his artistic talent. It soon became clear that there was more than one artist in the family. He and his mom Joanna created extra Rosa Bonheur mastercopies at home and kindly shared their beautiful work featured below. Well done to this awesome, creative mom and son art team.

Sighting of a Pride of Lions in Harold’s Cross, Dublin

Phew, it’s just a bunch of 7 and 8 year olds making their block-ins, ahead of creating their Mastercopies of 19th Century realism art.  The painting’s are starting to look so real you would be forgiven for thinking these were real lions.
The artists are studying the work of world famous artist Rosa Bonheur.  Rosa Bonheur was a french artist and her largest and most famous work can be seen in New York’s wonderful Met Museum. We do however have one of her paintings here in Ireland, a beautiful painting of a stag (the animal not the pre-wedding weekend away):  https://www.theartstory.org/artist-bonheur-rosa-life-and-legacy.htm

Before teaching at Art Academy this morning, I had a lovely morning of yoga with Sarah Shannon Yoga . You’ll see if you scroll down to the end of the post, that now Sarah Shannon Yoga seems to have some competitors who have copied her business model. 😄

They are planning a website for this venture at #Coderdojo
